A research practice that ships

Yoneda Labs is the AI research and development practice ofMatthew Long, operating through Magneton Labs, LLC in Chicago. The lab builds agent infrastructure, developer tools, and formally-grounded research — and has delivered production systems for clients for over two decades.

The name comes from the Yoneda lemma: an object is fully determined by its relationships to every other object. We take that as an engineering principle —understand the structure and you understand the system. It's why our data layer refuses unprovable answers, our source control treats commits as transactions, and our research program attacks open problems in physics and mathematics with category theory rather than brute force.

The lab has produced 122 research papers across 27 collections, two patent filings, and thirteen products and platforms — from CatDB and ContextFS to the Quantum Perspectivism program.
